In this post, we’ll have a look at assigning a permanent password that will enable quick access to your PC. Do remember that using a static password has its share of flaws. Open TeamViewer and navigate to Extras Options. Now, go to the Security tab and change the password under ‘Permanent Password for Unattended access’. Note: By default, the password is set to 4 digits, but you may change this by clicking on the Password strength dropdown menu as seen in the 2nd screenshot. Consider signing up for a TeamViewer account for more features like creating a partner list, sending IMs while remotely working on their PC, etc. There you can put in a permanent Password that will not change If you have the Remote Host only - Right click on the TeamViewer ICon down by the clock - Go to Option - Same Setup To always have the TeamViewer host start when you restart the Computer - on the General Tab in Options click the Start with Windows.

It has to do with the way that the newer RDP clients attempt to use NLA/CredSSP to do the authentication with the RDS server.

  1. First things first, is it showing a TeamViewer ID? If it is, the random password is probably just disabled. Just go to into the options and under 'Security', set the random password strength to 'Secure - 6 characters' This will give you back the password on the front of the software.-Scotty.
  2. See for yourself why millions of people around the world love using TeamViewer for remote access and remote control – download TeamViewer free for personal use. Download TeamViewer Free Try before you buy – experience the full power of TeamViewer for your business and unlock all the commercial features with a free 14-day trial (no credit.

I run into it, but because I only use my RDP server for telework, in the event that employees need to change their password when out, they change it thru Exchange/OWA.

There is a setting you can put in the RDP file that -- untested, I think, -- will disable the NLA behavior of RDP.
