GAME QUESTIONS ANSWERS
1. I'm playing a single player mission and it will not end, I killed everything. Check the nebulas for enemies. Some of the single player mission will have enemies hiding in nebulas for surprise attacks, if these attacks are not triggered in the game the enemies will remain in the nebula and will not be visible until you go inside the nebula. Mutara (purple), Neutral (light blue), and Metrion (green) nebulas are the ones you should check because they are the only nebulas that allow the ship to hide without taking damage. If the missions simply will not end, even if all the objectives have been completed, then the installation of the game may be corrupt. To correct this you should manually install the game in Windows Safe Mode. First uninstall the game, and delete the folder from the hard drive once it's through. Then copy the contents of the CD-ROM to a folder on your hard drive, does not matter where the folder is or what it's called, just so long as you can remember where you put it. To get into Safe Mode:
Once in Safe Mode, find the folder you made with the Star Trek Armada files in it and double click on the Setup.exe file in there to run the installer. Once it's through installing, reboot the computer normally and try the game again.
2. When I finish a Multiplayer or Instant Action game it doesn't exit. There is a several second delay before being taken to the Admiral's Log (score screen) to allow players to chat and survey the map as well as relish in their victory. The Victorious player will receive the message 'You are Victorious!' while the defeated player(s) will receive the 'You are Vanquished!' message so there is no confusion as to who the victor and loser are. After the game finishes with this delay, the game will return to the Admiral's Log.
3. What are the playable races in the single player campaigns? The following races are playable:
| ||||||||||||
4. Every time I finish a mission, it loads the same mission over again. See manually install game.
5. When I try to start a mission I receive a 'Please Insert CD' error, and the CD is in the drive. Download and install the latest patch for the game from our website. Ensure your CD-ROM drive can read 80 minute discs. Some low-quality drives such as the Samsung SC-140 and Acer 32X cannot read these discs. Make sure you have 32 bit drivers for your CD-ROM drive. Set the CD-ROM cache size to zero. Change the DMA setting on the CD-ROM drive. Make sure the drive letters for the CD-ROM are set correctly. Make sure that the location for CD music to play is set correctly. Make sure your system can successfully play Audio CD's. Turn off Auto Insert Notification.
6. The game is too dark. Make sure you have the latest video card drivers from the manufacturer's website. Turn up the brightness on your monitor. Consult your monitor manual on how to do this. You may wish to turn up the brightness setting for the video card. Note that this might increase the overall screen brightness as well. Typically, this is available by going into Display Properties, then Advanced settings. This process varies according to video chipset, so you will have to consult your video card manual on how to do this.
7. Do any Star Trek cast members appear in the game? Yes. Here is a list of Trek alumni supplying their voice talents in the game:
