Sub:- Grant of Pension and gratuity to GDS employees -invalidation of Rule 6 of Gramin Dak Sevaks (Conduct & Engagement) Rules, 2011. Ref:- judgment of the Hon’ble C.A.T. Principal Bench, New Delhi delivered on in OAS No. 749/2015, 3540/2015 and 613/ 2015 and report of Kamlesh Chandra GDS committee in chapter 18 relating to. (xiii) The Conduct and Engagement Rules, 2020 shall be applicable to all existing categories of GDS including those GDS categories which have been declared as wasting cadre as long as they remain in engagement. Subject:Review of Rule 12 of GDS (Conduct and EngagemenQRules-2011 for all categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS).

The undersigned is directed to refer to Rule 12 of GDS regarding Put off Duty of GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules, 2011.

2.The Competent Authority has approved the following substitution in Rule -12 of GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules,2011 containing the Put off Duty for all categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks in supersession of all earlier instruction/order on the subject:-

12. Put Off Duty

(1) The Engaging Authority or any authority to which the Engaging Authority is subordinate or any other authority empowered in that behalf of by the government, by general or special order, may put a savak off duty;

(a) Where a disciplinary proceedings against him is contemplated or is pending ; or
(b) Where a case against him in respect of any criminal offence is under investigation, inquiry or trial:

Provided that in case involving fraud or embezzlement, the Sevak holding any post specified in the Schedule to these rules may be put off duty by the Inspector of Post Office or the Assistant superintendent of Post offices of the Sub Division as the case may be, under immediate intimation to the Engaging Authority ….

The posts were vacant in many states of India and various states got huge number of applications from the aspirants who were matching the eligibility criteria required for the application. The various circle’s posts will now be filled as the merit list is released all for the circles of India such as Haryana Postal Circle, Uttar Pradesh Postal Circle, Rajasthan Postal Circle, Bihar Postal Circle, Chhattisgarh Postal, Maharashtra Postal Circle, Tamil Nadu Postal Circle, Andhra Pradesh Postal Circle, Punjab Postal Circle, and many other postal circles. There were total nineteen thousand (approx) vacancies available for the GDS posts.

Rules

Postal department of India is to soon announce the result for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) in UP postal circle. Candidates who had applied for the posts were waiting eagerly for the results. The candidates will be happy to know that the result has been announced for all the areas/ regions/ zones. The merit list of the selected candidates for the post of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) is to be released soon and the candidates would know the further proceedings also.

The selection criteria for these posts were that the candidates have to be at least 10th standard pass/ matric standard certified. The preference is given to the older candidates over the candidates who are relatively younger in age. However, the performance of the candidates is also taken into account such as the candidates who have higher marks are preferred and the candidates who have cleared the certification in first attempt are preferred over the candidates who have reappeared in matriculation standard.

The merit list is available on the official website of Indian Postal Department and not all the merit lists are yet available. So for Uttar Pradesh Postal Circle, the merit list is yet to be uploaded. Candidates can check their results on the official website once available. The selected candidates will also receive the notification via SMS (short message service) on the registered mobile number. The candidates will have document verification round after the merit list is released and the candidates who successfully clear the round shall be appointed as the GDS in UP postal circle.

Step 5: Now open the result PDF and check your result

The candidates now shall wait for the text message on their registered mobile number and hence they are advised to keep their number on and to keep a check on the official website from time to time to check for the notification regarding the result announcement. To check for the merit list/ result onlineon the official website candidates need to go the home page first and then search for the notification area or the tab. There would be direct link for the result and the candidates can see the same.
